I have been doing yoga for a number of years. I have met many yoga instructors. Sandy is one of the special ones. She is the kind of yoga teacher that you don't soon forget. Why? Because she makes you feel better about yourself and the world around you. You feel lighter, more in tune, body and mind. Sandy's classes are for everyone, beginner, the very practiced yogi, young and young at heart. Not too tough, not too easy, but just right. She asks what may be bothering you today (a shoulder here or a back there). Then she makes sure that she calls out how to adjust your pose, honoring those specific aches and pains. Her words are like a soothing balm, easing the mind and soul as your body flows through her graceful practice. Her gentle kindness is like a warm light, guiding you to leave the world and it's worries behind for awhile. She is easy to trust, leading you on the journey. She knows the way. Just close your eyes, breathe, and listen... Upon completion of class, I'm filled with a great sense of accomplishment and inner strength, a feeling of clarity and peace that lingers long after class is over. I began working with Sandy after a painful knee surgery left me feeling emotionally and physically exhausted. When my husband was diagnosed with ALS we turned to Sandy for end-of-life healing. Reiki proved to be invaluable physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Early on it helped him with his mobility. But then it helped release him from a place of darkness to finding the calm light that allowed him to pass peacefully with grace and ease.
